How to transform an 80's dress into a nightdress!

My family often gives me their old discarded clothes because I am designing a lot out of old clothes ^_^v I am happy about every donation! xD

This time I got this... 80's dress...
My first reaction was: "A... nightgown?"
My Mom: "NO! A dress!"
Me: "BUT it's SO large!"
My Mom: "But with a belt this was quite popular." (that's just what I use to say, lol. My mom's the best :D)

But I couldn't get over the thought of doing a nightgown out of it.... *g*
Normally I sleep in XXL-Shirts, quite "Chii"-like ;D but since I live in a shared flat I want to wear something pretty once in a while xD

So, let the transformation begin........

I cut the arms and the neckline at the dotted line.

 Than I ruffled the front part and held it together with a safety-pin.

 That's the back. I marked how long the back should be open and cut it on the dotted line.

 That's how it looks an me. It's still really BIG and looks like a greek toga xD

From then I couldn't take any pictures for you.. I just have to explain what I did. 

• cut the skirt to the wished length
• sew the cutted line cleanly
•  ad black bias tape ("Schrägband" in German) to the bottom part (not neccessary but I liked it that way) and to the neckline. The neckline is being closed by a ribbon out of the black bias tape.
• I added a few darts ("Abnäher" in German) in the back because it was still too big for me.

And that's it! 

I could also wear this as a beachdress... hihi.. :)

... just waking up and not knowing myself anymore...

Do you know these days when you wake up and know something inside you has change in a totally wrong direction? It feels like not knowing myself anymore.. just waking up and not knowing myself anymore.
That's a really creepy feeling...

But these days exist and I have to deal with them and keep believing that tomorrow everything will be better...

Meanwhile I'm just trying to detract myself from this awkward feelings by sorting some pictures and doing a blogpost...

For a couple of weeks I dyed my hair to some kinda purple-red color. I actually like red hair (and that purple-thingy-color, too) but I wouldn't dye my hair constantly because I'm too afraid of the damage ^^;
So this color lasts only for a few days (in the end it was almost light-pink xD).

 The dress is actually a old gothic-lace-skirt from my sister - I made it into a strapless dress :D

And I really got into designing cute sleep-dresses! ^^
This one's is out of white lace and ruffles and ribbons.... aawwww... a little girls' dream :)
I really liked the contrast with the white dress and the (almost) red hair ^^

I'm designing other sleepwear at the moment.. I'm going to show you soon :)

Plan for summer holidays

As I saw so many people already having their plans for summer I want to share my plans, too.

* Mallorca vacation
* visiting family in Mainz
* visiting a friend in Leipzig
* maybe visiting Berlin
* having a lot of time for exercising
* going swimming and tanning of course
* meeting friends and party
* reorganize schoolthings
* find something I want to do after the a-levels
* start painting with acrylcolors
* of course sewing/knitting/crocheting and taking a lot of pictures!
